THE VENUE
-
We offer tours by appointment only, typically scheduled between 10 am and 4 pm, as well as 5 pm and 7 pm from Monday to Thursday. Tours on Fridays through Sundays are subject to venue availability, as these days are often booked for events. If you'd like to schedule a tour, please reach out to us to check our availability.
-
Clear communication is our cornerstone. We start by offering Facetime/Zoom tours and remain responsive via email and phone throughout the booking and planning process. Many clients have booked Studio E without ever physically visiting the venue and have gone on to host the most memorable events with us!
-
Studio E is equipped with heating and AC, although being in a basement, it can tend to have some shortcomings in climate control due to the historic nature of our 100-year-old building. To ensure comfort, we provide fans and portable AC units to combat the summer heat. Additionally, we are actively working towards installing a large HVAC system for improved climate control.
-
Restrooms are indeed available at Studio E, located on the first floor above our venue. There are separate men's and women’s restrooms accessible to our clients. Please note that guests will need to use a flight of stairs to access these facilities, as there is no elevator. We are actively working towards adding bathrooms directly into our Studio E space for added convenience.
-
Regrettably, Studio E is not currently ADA-accessible due to the historic nature of the building. Guests may enter the venue from street level or through the Hickory Building. Although the Hickory Building itself is ADA-accessible, guests will still need to descend a short flight of stairs to enter Studio E. We are actively collaborating with the City of Denton to enhance accessibility for all.
-
There are two parking options available for Studio E guests. The first option is to utilize the ample street parking and large nearby lots around The Square. Alternatively, if parking is limited due to the downtown hustle and bustle, guests can park in the building's paid lot located directly across the street from Studio E (across from the Bear's Den door). Payment for this lot can be made through the ParkMobile app or with cash.
-
For guest counts under 50, Studio E can host both your ceremony and reception in the same location. Depending on the guest count, the venue may require flipping to accommodate amenities like a dance floor. Renting the lobby is an option for larger parties, but pricing and availability must be checked with the landlords who operate that area. Another popular option, especially for larger guest counts, is having the ceremony off-site and utilizing Studio E for the reception. In this case, Studio E is set up and ready to go, eliminating the need for flipping and ensuring a seamless transition.
-
Yes, we have two onsite storage areas available for vendor and client belongings. For events where cards or gifts are present, we recommend delegating someone to coordinate bringing those items to your personal car towards the end of the event. Additionally, Studio E is equipped with security cameras for added peace of mind.
-
Studio E does not double-book the venue on any day of the week, ensuring that each client has exclusive access to the space for their event. With our 12 or 6-hour rental options, there are no restrictions on how you can utilize those hours. Whether you prefer to set up in the morning and return later, or use multiple hours for decorating, the choice is yours. Time in and time out is negotiable, providing our clients with flexibility and freedom. Additionally, if needed, there is always the option to add additional hours.
-

For getting ready, Studio E offers two convenient spaces. The first option is our conference room on the 2nd floor, equipped with a large mirror, plug outlets, and nearby bathrooms. Adjacent to this room is a small kitchenette with a table, full fridge, and prep area. The second option is located on the 3rd floor and features a small sitting area with bathrooms. Both of these areas can be accessed by elevator from the 1st floor, providing simple yet efficient options for preparing for your event.

FOOD, BEVERAGE, & VENDORS
-
We take pride in our commitment to customization. While we've curated a list of hand-selected vendors within the metroplex for your consideration, we understand that you may have specific vendors in mind. That's why we operate under an open vendor policy, giving you the freedom to choose your own vendors. We do not charge vendor fees, and there are no food and beverage minimums.
-
Studio E operates as a BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverages) venue. If you plan to serve alcohol during your event, it's required to have a TABC-certified bartender present. You can hire a professional bartending company to assist with this, as they typically offer experienced bartenders, insurance coverage, and options for customizing your alcohol selection. Be sure to check out our vendor list for some excellent companies we've partnered with in the past! Alternatively, you have the option of hosting a self-service event, where guests can serve themselves. In this scenario, there won't be a bartender on-site. It's important to note that all local, state, and federal laws regarding alcohol consumption apply in either case.
-
We welcome food from various sources, including restaurants, catering companies, or even homemade dishes from your own kitchen. While we don't have a dedicated catering kitchen with stove or oven facilities, light food preparation is permitted. Additionally, you have the option to have a food truck stationed right outside the venue. If you need to keep food warm during your event, you can use food warmers such as warming cabinets or chafing dishes with gel burners.
-
At Studio E, we want to ensure your event goes smoothly, so it's important to note that we do not provide catering or beverage supplies. This responsibility falls on the client, bartending service, or caterer. While we strive to accommodate your needs, please keep in mind that depending on inventory availability, we may have a limited stock of emergency items on hand. So don’t forget to bring essentials such as cups, plasticware, plates/bowls, napkins, serveware, chafing dishes, serving platters, drink mixers, drink dispensers, bar supplies, ice etc, to ensure you have everything you need for your event.

With no ice machine or maker onsite, local gas stations and stores are nearby, making ice easy to purchase.

Therefore, for weekday events excluding holidays, we kindly ask clients to be considerate of those working in the building.

Currently, we provide a fabric-moveable projector screen and a projector. It's important to note that the projector does not connect to our house music system. However, we are continuously improving our offerings and plan to add a small PA system, new speakers, and a wireless microphone system soon
